INGLENOOK SIDINGS |
Although named 'INGLENOOK SIDINGS', this also encompasses various other model railway shunting puzzles, including the famous ‘TOWERS OF HANOI’ , hence the layout design differs from the conventional Inglenook Sidings 5,3,3 format into a full 5,5,5 format, with ‘scenic’ details being used to change the layout formats for the various shunting puzzles The system is controlled fully by electronics, but NOT DCC I hasten to add, but a system that was designed for one of our club layouts ( the ‘00’ gauge ‘Lawton Hey’ layout) at our model railway club, The Alsager Railway Association, (www.alsagerrailwayassociation.co.uk) if you want to take a look at our club, or maybe even visit us, you woud be most welcome. | The reason for making this layout all electronic, including the speed control etc, was to make it into a ‘level playing field’ for all those attempting the puzzle(s), and also to be able to select levels of difficulty for various age groups, from the very young to the very 'young at heart'. Also, an added feature is the facility to connect to a PC/Laptop via a USB cable to give the system even more FUNctionality (notice the emphasis in the word functionality!) As this is an ‘on going’ project, please call back from time to time and check out the ‘What’s New’ tab for the latest updates, although the photo's above also indicate the last updates. |
